Chairman and Chief Technology Officer
James Burk

James Burk began his interest in space and the planet Mars at an early age, and continues to pursue that interest in new and creative ways. An Internet pioneer and professional software developer, he designed and developed the visual elements of the website. He also developed our site's custom backend software, which provides our archival content system as well as many other innovative features of our site.

In 2002, MarsNews.com launched its own Internet radio program, Radio Free Mars, with James as Host and Executive Producer. The program interviewed many newsmakers in the field of Mars exploration and space science.

James is a self-described "Mars Activist", and co-founded the Mars Homestead Project / Mars Foundation in 2004 with Bruce MacKenzie. He also served as past President of the Seattle, WA chapter of the Mars Society, past Vice President of the Artemis Society / Moon Society, and many other positions in the space advocacy community. James has written articles about space science, overviews of space for educators and students, and investigative reports on NASA and its contracting entities.

James Burk holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and lives and works in Seattle, Washington.


Vice President, News Division and News Editor
Dustin Green

Dustin Green is the Vice President and News Editor of MarsNews.com and works as an engineer for Olympic Medical. As head of the News Division, he is responsible for quality control over the news presented by MarsNews.com.

In October 1999, Green began maintaining the daily NewsWire on MarsNews.com and is a regular contributor to Radio Free Mars, handing the duties for the regular news segment of that broadcast.

Green graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Green is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and also served as President of the Mars Society's Seattle chapter. He also served on the team of the Raven Human-Powered Airplane.
