Can we have a lift to Mars? The Western Mail

Posted by tourdemars to Mars Express at March 19, 2004 09:26 AM

A planned new Beagle 2 mission to Mars may hitch a ride on one of NASA's space ships to travel to the red planet, scientists involved in the project claimed last night. And experts behind the latest quest to find life on Mars are considering using James Bond to help them succeed this time. Former Swansea University academic and project leader, Professor Colin Pilinger, wants to call the lander "Beagle 2 . . . 007", as 2007 is when he expects the mission will lift off.

can people one day be able to lived in mars?

In a closed environment, the answer is a yes but being self sufficient now that is were the problems begin. Much like the ISS which is soley dependent on constant supplies being brought to the Station. Any Mars colony or base would have to become able to survive without much support due to time, distance and cost tobring any kind of supplies unless critical.

WHEN DO YOU THINK THE ESTIMATED TIME IS UNTIL WE CAN LAND ON MARS??

The president's vision time line had flights starting sometime around 2035 which would probably be a few days circleling but probably not landing the first time we go. More of a ship longevity type of test rather than anything else most likely.
